For all sizes
A marathon is difficult… But in the Luberon, it was
thought to everybody. At any age, any level of sport, whatever your
ambitions, you will find your happiness necessarily: running or walking
tasting.
The refreshments for the enjoyment of taste buds
Too many riders fail to eat during the race. They are wrong because it
may result in serious consequences. The hydration and nutrition are
fundamental elements of the performance, and usability. Recognizing its
problems, the organizers have not skimped on the means. All 2 km, at
most 3, stands a refreshment stand. On the shelves, the products are
not missing. Alongside the fruit, water, energy drinks and other cereal
bars, are offered products and specialties. When a large portion of
riders will have taken some bananas, and a little water, the bulk of
the pack dwell at each booth to sample the different products. The
refreshments then take another turn and you will understand better why
some have embarked on this marathon there, rather than another.
After the effort, muscle recovery
A marathon, necessarily, that use the body. The race ended, it is
important to recover because the trauma for several hours undoubtedly
leave their mark. A medical service is introduced. In addition to the
indispensable doctors, physiotherapists are available to participants
immediately crossed the finish. With Sandrine Germain, a
physiotherapist at La Tour d'Aigues twenty physiotherapists pupils of
the school in Marseilles are present every year to provide massages
after the race. She oversees this part of the medical staff with a lot
of energy and good humour.
The Volunteers for accommodating riders
The success of an event of this magnitude would be inconceivable
without the help and support of hundreds of volunteers. Today, the
event asked 400 people on the two days dedicated to the event. These
issues are usually different sports associations or local cultural, but
it is no longer enough.
It is always with great pleasure that the
organizers welcome volunteers from here or elsewhere. Thus we saw come
of Brittany, for Marseilles lend a helping hand to volunteer forever.
Among these include: the association "Mille Paw" (walkers and hikers du
Luberon).
The rewards
The Marathon awareness of the
region to many people and gives them the desire to return. How? Giving
simply the recipients of awards to consume in the Luberon (residences,
restaurants, hotel nights,…). All participants will leave anyway with a
little Luberon: 5000 T-shirts signed to the label of Marathon and 8000
bottles of wine Côtes du Luberon distributed ambassadors of the
appellation.
